Hal Draeger
President
Harold (Hal) Draeger has served on the San Mateo
County Chaplaincy since its early days. He is currently the Board chairman. Hal has served as chaplain for the Redwood City Police Department since 1994 and also for Atherton Police Department. He was senior pastor for Redeemer Lutheran Church in Redwood City from 1992 until 2015, when he retired. He developed the counseling ministry of Redeemer and continues to serve there as a licensed marriage and family therapist. His training in dealing with trauma has assisted him in providing support to police officers and community members. Hal holds the Master Chaplain Certificate from the International Conference of Police Chaplains. He has served on the San Mateo County Critical Incident Stress Management Team and serves on Redwood City's Senior Affairs Commission. Hal earned the Doctor of Ministry degree from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena.
Daisy Segal
Secretary
Daisy Segal has been part of San Mateo County Chaplaincy from the beginning of an advisory board in November 2004 to set up SMCC into a not-for-profit entity. She has served as secretary since it was incorporated in July 2005.
Daisy is on staff at Peninsula Covenant Church in Redwood City as ministry partner and admin manager. She has a masters degree from Iowa State University.
She has two daughters, one son-in-law and a grandson. She loves the Giants, the Warriors, and quilting.
